Foundation commits $500,000 to advance rescue, recovery, and rebuilding efforts in its home state of Texas
As Central Texas communities continue recovering from devastating flooding, Reach Resilience has pledged $500,000 to support recovery and rebuilding efforts and to mobilize critical aid and resources for residents and families.
“We are heartbroken over the loss of life and the suffering of our neighbors and friends,” said Sonya Medina Williams, President & CEO of Reach Resilience. “This tragedy has struck close to home, and we are moved to act—not only as a foundation rooted in Texas, but as people who grieve alongside those impacted. We are proud to stand with rescue workers, community leaders and donors, such as our partners at USAA, with this commitment of support. In this moment of profound need, we encourage other organizations to join us in any way they can.”
Reach Resilience’s contribution will support on-the-ground operations including search and rescue, shelter, and rebuilding. Funds will be directed to trusted response partners with deep experience in Texas.
Grant recipients include:
- American Red Cross
- Community Foundation of the Texas Hill Country
- Texas Search & Rescue
- Salvation Army
“Reach Resilience is dedicated to uplifting our communities and helping them find hope, healing, and a way forward,” said Medina Williams. “We unite with all Americans in expressing our grief in this heartbreaking moment.”
